Have You Started to Plan Your Summer Golf Outing?

Friday March 9, 2007

Corporate golf events are more popular than ever before, so event planners should encourage their clients to secure preferred golf course locations and weekday dates as early as possible in the year. This is especially true if the weather limits your favorable months. Generally speaking, nobody likes to schedule a golf outing near a holiday. I also discourage clients from holding events on Mondays and Fridays, and the best day of the week is Thursday. As the schedule narrows, it's easy to understand why a popular course can quickly fill its calendar and leave you with few options.

But March is still a good time to secure favorable dates, and successful golf meetings require timing and other considerations:

  • Total golfers
  • Event agenda
  • Food and beverage
  • Tournament format
  • Prizes and more
