Fall is a Time to Plan Indoor Seminars and Meetings

Saturday September 15, 2007

Labor Day is an important marker in the event calendar, beginning to switch the business development relationship focus from entertainment venues to the more traditional hotels and conference centers. When working with hotel conference services managers, event planners should be familiar with the most popular meeting space floor plans:

  • Classroom
  • Theater
  • Banquet
  • Reception
  • Boardroom
  • U-Shaped
  • Hollow Square

To be sure, when considering meeting space as presented by many hotels and other venues, it's important for meeting planners to recognize that the maximum number of people documented for a specific meeting room may be significantly higher than what planners should secure. That is, it is much more realistic to estimate that rooms will comfortably hold about 60-70% of the total numbers presented.
