What You Should Know About Checked Baggage and Your Luggage on Airlines
Checked baggage fees will increase at United Airlines effective June 10, just 10 months after the airline first introduced a checked luggage fee. Baggage fees by airlines received a lot of attention last year because it was a new line item charge and not all business travelers -- including those who attend corporate and association meetings -- were pleased with a separate fee.
But since then, most people have accepted the increased fee for varying reasons. And now that United and other airlines are increasing their fee again, event planners and business travelers should consider the issue of airline baggage in more depth to understand what they are paying for.
