With the Kentucky Derby just around the corner, it's reminding me of the times I spent drinking mint juleps, eating bourbon balls and organizing client events in Louisville at this time of year. And since we're talking about Kentucky Derby, this also means that event planning is being scheduled during horse racing season. That is, everything from planning a day at the races to meetings to other forms of corporate and social hospitality - even weddings.
Anyone who has organized a corporate or social event at horse racing tracks knows that these venues offer excellent options for catering, hospitality and meetings. Options frequently include private banquet rooms on various floors (such as Churchill Downs' Millionaires Row), outdoor options or even a track's museum for receptions and other events.
