It's mid-April, and this time of year always has me thinking (usually last minute) about taxes. And it's also a time when many people contemplate about that long term goal of starting their own businesses. For event planners, that means starting their own event planning business.

And while I will share more with you in the coming weeks about how to start your own event planning business, one of the most common questions that comes up is, "How do I structure my event planning fees?" We all struggle with that question. But the most important answer is that the fees should be structured so that you make a profit and are in business for the long term.
