Need Event Planning Ideas or Tips?
Ask Me for Special Event Planning and Corporate Event Planning Ideas

By Rob Hard, About.com

Perhaps you're looking to organize a seminar or event in another city, and you're not sure where to hold the event. Perhaps you're working to create the "first annual" of some sort of event, and searching for event planning ideas about what to do or where to hold it -- regardless of whether it's in your own city or elsewhere. Or maybe you're looking for some advice about potential venues, hotels, vendors, destination management companies, gifts, or invitations that you may use.

Well, I thought that I'd ask readers to submit questions directly to me, and I will offer advice for special event planning and corporate event planning. Whether it's one aspect of your event or if you need complete guidance, I'll do my best to offer some event planning ideas that may help.

Many readers recognize that my reach is international with a more specialized focus in North America and Europe. Don't let the location stop you or stump me. Simply send me an email that provides some basic logistical information, and it may be selected for a future event planning Q&A. Please be sure to include the following information:

  • Name if event (or type of event if the event name isn't yet assigned)
  • Date of event (or potential dates)
  • Purpose of event
  • Event agenda (or rough draft)
  • Total attendees
  • Estimated budget
  • Let me know if you want me to reference your contact information in a future article with your question(s).

If I don't know an answer directly, I will reach out to some industry contacts and try to share event planning ideas. I'm happy to try to offer some thoughts and advice on everything from product launches to incentive trips to anniversary parties and more. Write to me at: eventplanning.guide@about.com.
